Capirotada (Bread Pudding)

Ingredients:
12 slices toasted bread
2 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups grated Mexican style fresh cheese
1 1/2 cups raisins
4 Tbsp. Gold-n-Soft® Margarine plus 1 Tbsp. for greasing baking pan
1 cup heavy cream whipped (optional)
Directions:
Spread 4 tablespoons of Gold-n-Soft® evenly over the slices of bread, break into 2" pieces.
Mix water, sugar, spices and salt in a sauce pot. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
Grease an oblong baking pan with margarine.Layer bread, cheese, raisins and butter. Pour syrup over bread mixtureand bake at 350 F for 20 minutes or until syrup is absorbed.
May be served warm or cold. Top with whipped cream if desired.
